Cutie Pie Guest Designer

I'm so happy to have been invited to be a Guest Designer for the Cutie Pie Challenge Blog.

The challenge is Flower Power

I've used this sweet image from Stamping Bella and colored her with Copics.

The butterfly is cut from the designer paper I used, which was KAISERCRAFT. The roses and the blue heart pin are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the ribbon and pearls came from my stash. The circle punch is Creative Memories. I added some stitching and Glitter Ritz to finish her up.

I know we've all come across so many gorgeous Copic color combinations and it's hard to remember them all, so I've decided the easiest way to reference them would be a Copic Journal. This is my first page with some hair colors I love to use. I'm sure I'll be adding many pages of hair along the way.

Stamps R Us Final Challenge

I can't tell you how much I am going to miss working with Jan and this talented group of ladies.

For my card I used Marcy Mermaid from LaLa Land. I can't remember what the paper line is. I've colored her with Copics. The flowers were white and I colored them with R22 so they would match her clothes. I cut the swirls on my Big Shot with a Sizzlit and backed the image with cheese cloth.

As for me, I have cut back on my Design Teams since our 3 year old Granddaughter came to live with my husband and I. So now I will just continue to play along, but without deadlines!

Canary Love

My card today is done with a new image from Saturated Canary. Can you believe Krista Smith is offering her as a free download? Yep! And you can get her here. After I downloaded her I went shopping and now have eight more of these little sweeties to color up!

The paper is from a 6x6 pad of My Minds Eye called Lost and Found. Pretty much all of the embellies were in my stash. I used punches from Martha Stewart and Creative Memories. The scalloped oval is cut with a Spellbinders and my Big Shot. I glittered her with a two way glue pen and some Glitter Ritz. It was a challenge figuring out how to color all those beautiful layers of clothing, but I can't wait to color up another of these images. I hope you have a great weekend. Thanks for visiting!

Just where does the time go? But I'm back today with a fun card using an image from Mo's Digital, Angelina's Balloon. Isn't her staticy hair great?!

The paper I used is from My Minds Eye and inked with Distress inks. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the ribbon, lace and pearls are from my stash. I cut the swirls and tag from Sizzlits and the leaves are a Martha Stewart Punch. The border is a Stampin'Up! punch.

My children know me so well. They both gave me craft supplies for Christmas. I was so happy when I opened the package from Lindsey that contained the Spellbinders Sprightly Sprockets die set. So I had to use them for my first card of the year! The DP I used is from The Paper Loft which I've had for ages and I added some brown ribbon and twine. The sentiment is computer generated and he's colored with Copics. The corners are punched from a CM punch and everything is inked with Vintage Photo distress Ink.

Well here we are. The house is quiet and the kids have all gone home with their cars packed full of goodies. We had a wonderful Christmas and Santa was very generous to us all.

This is the first time I've been in my scrap room for almost a week, so a little organizing is in order so I can play again. I have a card to share that I completed last week with this cute image from Mo's Digital called In the Manger.

I used paper from BoBunny's Blitzen Collection and focused on gold embellishments. My sentiment is computer generated in Photoshop.The star punches are from Stampin'Up! and the leaves are from a Martha Stewart punch. I used bling and ribbon from my stash.

A Wee Christmas Card

Where is the time going? It's been a while since my last post. It's just such a busy time! I am managing to get a few cards done, but still have so much to do.
I've had my eye on this and a few other images at Wee Stamps for some time now. I just love this little sweetie. Her name is Winter Fairy and you can purchase her here.

I've used paper from Basic Grey and colored her with Copics. My flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and my stash and the leaves are a Martha Stewart punch. I cut the tags out with a Sizzlit and the pearls are all from my stash as well. I love my glitter from Glitter Ritz. It goes on so nicely with a two way glue pen. The Happy Holidays sentiment is from Stampin'Up!

Christmas Wall Decor

Just a quick post today as I thought I would share a photo from a post I did last Christmas to show you how I decorate above my front door with my Cricut and vinyl.

I used the Joys of the Season Cartridge and dark brown and red vinyl. The cost is minimal, so I just take it down after Christmas and start over again the next year. The possibilities are endless!

Having a Ball

In keeping with the challenge at Mo's Digital, I have a card today using this sweet little elf called Mim.

I've used paper from my stash of scraps, so have no idea what the company would be. I created the sentiment in Photoshop. The silver star is an old button and I made a bow with some silver trim. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I used punches from Martha Stewart and Creating Memories. I covered the snow flakes with Flower Soft and glittered her up with Glitter Ritz. The trim and pearls are also from my stash. (allot of stash this time) When all is said and done, I think she's as cute as can be!

Color Me Creative and some Funky Hair

It's time for a new challenge at Color Me Creative Copic challenge blog and the theme is

multi color hair in non traditional colors. This means no blondes, brunetts, or black hair colors.

CMC is a blog I go to regularly for inspiration and how toos from the incredibly talented Suzanne Dean and her DT. So just imaging how thrilled I was to be invited to be a Guest Designer for this challenge! Beyond happy! And what a fun challenge too. I love funky hair. In fact when my daughter Stacey got married, the girls in her wedding party had purple hair to match the purple wedding colors and it was perfect! For my card I used this fun digi from Simply Betty Stamps. She has lots of fun hair to play with.

I used paper from my stash from BoBunny and stitched around everything. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the lace is from KAISERCRAFT. I used a sizzlit for the swirls and a Marvey punch for the butterflies. The leaves I make myself and the pearls and gems are from my stash as well. And of coarse I colored her with my Copics. My photo isn't that great this time. Lighting... grrr.

I have a quick post to share today. My little gal has been sick since Thursday, so I haven't had much me time. It's an anything goes challenge at Tiddly Inks, so I chose to use this darling couple-As you wish- and give my card a shabby feel.

I've colored them with Copics, but misplaced my list of the ones I used.

The swirl die cuts are from Sizzix and I used punches from Marvey and Martha Stewart. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I got the lace from my local fabric store and inked everything up with Vintage photo distress ink.

A friend recently asked me to make a card for a baby boy who will be born soon. The Dad is a fire fighter, so what better image than Teddy Bo's Fire Bear Bea.

I've colored him/her with Copics (I misplaced my list). The DP is from echo park paper co. The sentiment is computer generated and my embellishments are mostly punches. (Fiskars, Stampin'Up!, Creative Memories) I added some stitching, ribbon, a button and some pearls and that's that.

I rarely make Halloween cards, but I couldn't resist this time. Don't you just love this gorgeous gal? She is called Cast a spell and she's a digi from Tiddly Inks.

Just a quick post today with a card using this pretty Pony digi from WinkwinkInk.

I love this image for a little girl themed card.

I colored her with Copics and Prismacolor Pencils. I used punches from Fiskars, Marvy, and Martha Stewart. The sentiment is computer generated and I love, love, love my flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. I used the lace, half pearls and charm from my stash and inked the edge with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and blending tool. Of coarse there are Stickles on the butterflies.

Sadly, this will be my last card as a Design Team member for STAMPtacular. As I've mentioned before, our sweet granddaughter Callie has come to live with us as . We are thrilled to have her and each day with a two and a half year old is filled with new adventures and they just aren't happening in my craft room! Unless she gets the door open when I'm not watching and then the adventure is finding everything out of place and usually on the floor. So while we are adjusting to Callie's needs, deadlines just seem to sneak up on me too quickly. I'll still be playing along with the challenges though. It's an addiction!!

For my card I used a Teddy Bo digital image called My cup of tea. The designer paper is from imaginisce and the beautiful flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I used punches from Stampin'Up! and Fiskars and pulled the pearls from my stash. I colored her with Copics and challenged myself with those scary reds.

Terrible Two!

Today I have a card using a Mo's Digital Image, Conner is Two. I could think of allot of appropriate sentiments for him, but chose to make a Birthday card.

This paper is from my stash of Stampin'UP! as are the brads and swirl embellishment. The sentiment is computer generated. No list of copics today as I can't find it in this mess on my desk.

Well, I'm off to do some yard work. The days are getting cooler and it's unfortunately time for some fall cleanup. I miss summer already!

My piece this week is a little gift box using Just Breathe Mermaid Digi by Michelle Perkett Studio. You can purchase her at Bunny Zoe's.

This being my first Mermaid, I had to learn how to color her tail. I just colored her as usual and then dabbed in some darker green and then lifted some color by dabbing with the colorless blender. I'm happy with the results, I think.

The paper is from a 6x6 pad that I think Callie may have run off with, so I can't say where they're from. The flowers and pin are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I found the seashells in my stash.

Kraftin' Kimmie Sketch Challenge

Awhile back I won the Color Me Creative Challenge for my Dragonfly Flight card and my prize was a gift certificate from Tiddly Inks. It was so hard to choose because these images are just priceless! I did fall in love with Fairy Fae immediately.

Although it's been incredibly hot and perfect boating weather, I felt like a Christmas Card, so I used this little sweetie from Tiddly Inks. Her name is Little Clair-Party Time. For the snowy effect I edged everything with white acrylic paint dabber.

Mouse with Love

Well we made it to the weekend after a very busy week with my grandchildren. Now that Callie lives with us every day is busy, but I also had a couple of fun days with my grandson, Connor while his Mom did some temp work.

My card for today is colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS The cute image is called Mouse with Love from Di's Digi Downloads. The paper is from my stash and for the life of me, I can't remember the name of it.

The ribbon and buttons are also from my stash. I guess the only new thing here would be the image! There is some Glitter Ritz on the butterfly and flower.

I'm quite behind on everything this week! Earlier this week my Daughter had something unexpected come up so our two year old granddaughter has come to stay with us for a week or so. As a result the craft room door has been closed most of the time and Mamma has been playing with dolls instead of stamps!

So on this beautiful Sunday Morning I have my laptop out on the deck so I can share my latest Elisabeth Bell card, while Callie is taking a bucket and inch by inch taking the water from my fountain and filling her little swimming pool. She should be busy for a while!

I've used this beautiful image from Elisabeth Bell called Dragonfly Flight and colored her with Copics and Prismacolor pencils. And check out the fab sketch from Magical Monday Challenge.

A Day For Daisies

Our theme is

There was a little girl....

So join us in creating something with a little girl in mind.

For my easel card I used Pixie Gift, but it was so hard to choose just one image as they are all so beautiful. I thought a vintage look suited her, so I did some distressing, inking and sewing.

I'm not sure if you can see the leaves very well. I punched each leaf with an oval punch and then shaped them with decorative scissors. Then I used an embossing tool to mark the veins and just inked the edges. I think they'll do fine.

The little ribbon roses were white and come in strip, so I cut them off, sprayed them with Rose Tea Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels and glued a half pearl in each one.

Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge

It's time again for the
Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge
and this month we have a sketch for you. To play along, just use any Elisabeth Bell image and follow the sketch below.
I made my card using Fairy Wishes. Isn't she sweet? Wait until you see what the rest of the design team has for your inspiration.

Before I go, I have to tell you how I spent the day yesterday.

Clay and I snuck away for the afternoon to do some fishing. The weather wasn't great, but we were determined to get out on the water for a few hours. Well, he wasn't all that impressed when I caught my fourth northern pike while he had still only caught one. But being the sweet heart that he is, he came to the back of the boat to take off my fish and to try out his new weigh scale. What he didn't realize was that the deck was a little slippery from the little sprinkle of rain and somehow he got all turned around and before I could even react he was off the back of the boat (backwards, feet in the air) and in the water with my fish! I had the good grace not to laugh until I had him safely back in the boat, but then I laughed until I cried while he sat there trying to figure out what the heck had happened! I can still see the look on his face when he came up for that first breath and I start laughing again. I'm not allowed to go today.

He's taking a buddy instead.

Punch it Up!

It is still raining here. Uggg!!! Clay took a week of holidays to go fishing and we only got out one day. It has either been raining or blowing, but we are hoping for some sunshine tomorrow. Keeping our fingers crossed!

In the mean time I have had a little time to play, so I had some fun with this little one from Lily of the Valley.

The challenge this week at Lily of the Valley is to use punches. I count four. Charisma Cards requires Something that flies and Truly Scrumptious wants to see some Summer Sparkle.

And now for my Digi Bell Design Team card. This time I've used Little Rapunzel and colored her with Copics. I wanted a little bit of a vintage feel so inked all the edges and added some stitching. You know I love butterflies so I cut some out of the patterned paper and glittered them up.

has given me this adorable little guy to color up today. He is a digi called Kolar and Bow. We have two pets in our house. Kiwi and Kizzy, both poodle crosses. When people express their suprise that my husband let me name them that, I have to tell them that it was he who chose their names. Even more surprising is that we have always had Labrador Retrievers and Clay always said if you had to bend down to pet it, it wasn't a dog. Guess who cuddles on the couch every night and sneaks the food to them under the table when I'm not looking. The labs weren't even allowed in the kitchen at meal time! After I colored this guy up, I realized Jasper is a blond. However, I still love this little guy and maybe next time he can be blond! As I said, his name is Jasper and Spesch Stamps kindly provided him for me to color for this week's challenge. Then I came across this 6x6 BoBunny paper pad and they just seemed perfect for each other. I made the flower with pages out of an old water damaged paperback (The Bourne Betrayal-a good read). I punched, scrunched and sprayed it with antiquing solution. The other circle embelly is punched, scrunched, inked and stapled. The time piece is just cut out of a piece of the paper and popped up with a dot. Everything is inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I have so many reasons to celebrate! In a very short time I’ve gone from an admirer of all of the talented designers on the various challenge blogs to designer myself! This lazy bear was so much fun to work with. All of the Teddy Bo images are adorable and I think there's one for every occasion or occupation. There are quite a few on my wish list! I've colored her with Copics and Prismacolors and used flower soft for the center of the flower. A nice effect and really easy to do. I did a little distressing and pulled out my sewing machine for a finishing touch. Sweet Pea Lace and Pearls Challenge.

I've been eyeing up all of the beautiful creations done with Sweet Pea Images for some time now and I finally got some myself. When my youngest daughter was a teenager she seldom came up the stairs other than to eat or go to school. We called her the Duchess of Darkness. Well she's all grown up now and a Mom herself, but these beautiful images still make me think of her. Especially this one -Ching-chou kuik's Black Rose Fairy.

Black is not in my comfort zone, but I have to admit this was a fun change. I made the yoyo flowers a while back with some sheer black fabric cut into circles and then melted the edges over a candle flame. I think they're perfect for this design. I used lots of glitter and black pearls.

I'm so thrilled to be doing another card for the Digi Bells Design Team. I couldn't resist this little sweetie. Her name is Rachel, Little Angel and she is one of the many sweet images from the Elisabeth Bell Digital Collection.

I colored her with Copics and Prismacolor pencils. Then I added glitter to her wings although it doesn't really show in the pic. I cut her out and layered her after dusting the paper behind her with Pearlescent chalks. I hope she brings a little sunshine to your day!

Di's Digi DownloadsMy two year old Grandaughter, Callie loves her kitties, so I knew I had to color this sweetie for her. She is called Scruffy Kitty Kaboodle I colored her with copics and mostly Prismacolor pencils by flicking in the fur and blending it out with OMS. The paper I used was on the very bottom of my stash pile, so although I couldn't tell you where it comes from, I think it's purrrfect. I made the sentiment in Photoshop Elements-loving layers! I did a little stitching and added flowers from Wild orchid crafts. You wouldn't think that one little feather wouldn't be such a big deal. I grabbed a bag of multi-color feathers from the kids section in Micheals the other day. Between the fluff up when you open the bag and Callies help, I have feathers everywhere, even stuck to the walls of my craft room! At least they're pretty.

I chose to make an easel card using Spellbinders Nestabilities, Classic Scalloped Circles Large. This Elisabeth Bell digi image is Rachel Little Angel and I colored her with Copics and Prismacolor pencils and OMS. The paper is from my stash. The little pearl ribbon slide and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I used a Marvy punch for the butterflies and covered them with Stickles and a Martha Stewart punch for the leaves. Her wings are glittered with Glitter Ritz.

Little Miss Dress Up.

I'm finally having a quiet evening to play in my craft room. Blogger hasn't been cooperating lately. My post will look great and then I publish it and the layout is all messed up. Too many spaces where I didn't put them. Ug! I think I finally figured it out though so we'll see how this works.

For my card today I used this cute digi, "Let's Play Dressup" from Pixie Dust Studio and colored her with Copics and Prismacolors with OMS. The papers are "echo park paper co." and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I found this pink ribbon in my stash from at least three years back! I used Glitter Ritz on her star and boa, but you can't see it very well in the photo. The leaves are punched with a Martha Stewart and the butterflies with a Marvy punch.

Digi Bells Easel Card

I’m so excited to share my exciting news! I’ve been chosen to join the Digi Bells Design Team for a three month period as a Guest Designer!!!!! I love, love, love working with Elisabeth Bell’s images, so I couldn’t be happier. In fact, if you come back later, you can join in my celebration. (wink, wink)

The image I chose to share with you is from the Digital Collection and her name is Pati’s Kisses.

I’ve colored Pati with Copics and added some shading with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. This gorgeous paper is from a company called “the girls paperie”. So pretty! The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I punched the butterflies with a Martha Stewart punch from white paper, flicked on some Copic pinks and added some Stickles. Butterflies have to be my favorite embellishment. The leaves are punched from a Martha Stewart punch and the swirl from a Sizzlit. You can find a great tutorial here for the instructions to make and easel card.

I followed the sketch you’ll find at the B&W Challenge Blog where you have until Sunday to play along with your favorite Elisabeth Bell image.

Stamps R Us Challenge blog

This time round at the Stamps R Us Challenge we would like you to create something with the theme “The men in our lives” The possibilities are endless, so let’s see what you come with. Our generous sponsor is Dude Time Doodles. Now for my DT card.

First I must say, my husband is not a plumber, and his pants fit a little better than this. I do love this image though! I colored Pete the Plumber with Copics and Prismacolor pencils and OMS. I created the sentiment in Photoshop. This paper line is from The Paper Loft. I used two punches and the ribbon buckle from Stampin’Up! and the brads are from my stash. Pretty simple, but I’m happy with how he turned out.

This is the first time I’ve colored this little Tilda (Magnolia Stamps) and I’ve used Copics and Prismacolors with OMS. The papers are from Moxie and I created the sentiment in Photoshop. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the lace is from my stash. The frame around Tilda is cut using Labels Eight –Spellbinders and the border punch is a Stampin’Up! The leaves are cut using the Cindy Loo Cricut cartridge. I punched the butterflies and colored them with copics and then covered them with Stickles. Now to get her into the mail!

A Tasty Read

The Digi Bells Design Team are holding a guest DT call. Elisabeth Bell has the sweetest images and I love that she has digis too. Instant gratification!

The digi image I used is called A Tasty Read. I colored her with Copics and Prismacolor pencils and OMS. The papers are a mix of Prima and Fancy Pants Designs. I inked and stitched around the edges and added these roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. I think the lace is from Prima and the pearls, ribbon and dragon fly charm are from my stash. For the Guest DT challenge you have a choice between two sketches. The following is my fav of the two.

My Card The image I used for my card is “Gone Fishing” from Teddy Bo. I colored him with Copics and Prismacolor pencils and OMS. The sentiment is computer generated. The papers are from GCD Studios and I have 12 layers in total. The embellishments are all from my stash. I quite like the masculine feel of this guy with these papers.

Not so scary

I’ve had this image for a while now, but have been intimidated by the thought of coloring her. I mean, have you seen some of the beautiful cards being created with this sweetie? Anyway, she was easier than I expected and here is my finished result.

This image is called Joy Sitting and she is a Digi from Sugar Nellie. I colored her with Copics and added some deeper shades with Prismacolor pencils. You can find an excellent tutorial for coloring her at this link to Cats Whiskers Tutorials. Jacs really does make it easy to follow. I found this gorgeous paper in my Stampin’UP! stash. I forgot I had it. The flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts and the embossed swirls are done with a folder from Cuttlebug. I could have cried yesterday when I broke my Martha Stewart punch for the leaves. Now there’s a new one sitting safely in it’s drawer! I followed the sketch at the Sugar Bowl Challenge, but something came up this morning and I didn’t get it posted in time for that challenge. Oh well.

Eat Cake.

I’ve had my eye on this little gal for the longest time and just got my first stamps from Lily of the Valley. They were worth the wait.

Her name is Rosie with cake and I colored with Copics and Prismacolor pencils and OMS. Once again I’ve used DP from echo park paper co. I created the sentiment in Photoshop Elements. I purchased a string of beads and strung them on a corsage pin and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I used four different punches and the swirl is a Sizzlit. Although you can’t really see it, I used quite allot of Glitter Ritz.

Stamps R Us Challenge

This time round at Stamps R Us Challenge we would like to see your projects that have Bugs and Embossing. Our generous sponsor is Doodle Pantry.

The image and sentiment I’ve used are from Doodle Pantry and are from the digi set called Jelly Bean Ants. I colored them with Copics and Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. The colorful papers are Little Yellow Bicycle. I ran some sheer white ribbon across and secured it with a button. The Easter eggs are embossed with the Cuttlebug folder Swiss Dots, although you can’t see that very well in the photo. I hope you’ll join us with your version of “Bugs and Embossing!”
