Celebrate with Melinda

Well, here it is. The last day of 2010. Each passing year seems to go by faster than the one before. We've been very blessed this year with the marriage of our oldest daughter Stacey to her sweetheart, Mike. Their first child is to be born the first week in February. We await anxiously! It will be a change for Callie, having to share all of the attention, but not to fear. One little girl could not be more loved! To ring in the new year, we have a quiet evening planned with another couple to watch a movie and snacks. This is the first time I've colored this Melinda image from Whiff of Joy . I think I will use this as a birthday card. I used Stampin'Up! cardstock and DP. The swirls and leaves are Sizzix. The corners and rose are handmade and the flowers and charms are from my stash. She is colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. This sketch is from the Whiff of Joy challenge this week.

I've submitted this card in the following challenges: Colour Create -pink, red and white Stamp Something- Glitter Top Tip Tuesday -Embellish. I guess my tip for this challenge would be to make your own photo corners by cutting a one inch square of paper and then cut it in half corner to corner with your decorative scizzors or border punch. Add a little bling and there you have it. Simon Says-Celebration

I'm off the prepare the snacks for this evening. Have a safe and Happy New Years Eve. Thanks for visiting! Jo xx

Daring Digi

My Husband usually doesn't offer any input on my image purchases, but he and my father in law really thought this digi from Kenny K's would be a sound investment. Go figure. She is gorgeous though and I had fun coloring her, with their advice of coarse! I colored her with my new Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits. I just got the oms and I love working with this medium. The sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmies and I punched it with my Stampin' Up! punch. The leaves were cut on my Big Shot as was the border with the Tim Holtz die that I got for Christmas. The paper is from Bobunny. I've submitted this pretty gal in the following challenges: Kenny K's Krafty Girlz- Distressing
Sew Many Cards- Anything goes
Crazy Challenge- Punch it

Grandma's Angel

I just wanted to share these photos of my beautiful Granddaughter, Callie. We had an afternoon together this past week and she posed as pretty as can be for Grandma. These are my two favorite shots. Callie is almost 21 months old and the light of our lives. We are fortunate that she and her Mom live just a few blocks away so we see her almost every day. Our second grandchild is to arrive in February. He or she will live only an hour away. We are blessed!
I hope your Christmas is filled with family, friends, many blessings and precious memories.

Plum Happy

Only 4 more sleeps until Christmas Eve. I've got most of my shopping done and even wrapped. Our Grandaughter Callie is being baptised on Christmas Eve so we have even more to celebrate. Purple is one of my favourite colors, so I especially enjoyed making this card. I can never get enough Tilda and took this one last chance to use her on a Christmas Card. I colored her with my new Prismacolor pencils and used Distress Ink dusty concord to give everything depth. My papers all come from Glitz design and Stampin'Up! And of course...Stickles. I put her all together following this sketch from the Sketch and Stash Challenge. With all of the Christmas challenges happening, it's been fun exploring and I'll be entering these challenges this time round. Alissa's Card

I've been volunteering at our Library this past week with Alissa and this is the card I've made for her. She loves her hot chocolate so I'll include a Tim Hortons gift card. I colored this fun elf (North Pole Employee)from Mo's Digital with my Stampin'Up! inks and covered him with stickles and Glitter. The green paper is from my stash and the sentiment is off my computer. Now that my craft room is just the way I want it, my old sewing machine is on my desk just to my right, so I just have to slide over and sew away. I've been sewing on my scrapbook pages too-endless possibilities! Silver, Blue and White

I treated myself to a set of Prismacolor pencils this week after seeing some of the beautifully colored images that some of the talented bloggers are sharing. So I practiced and practiced and finally came up with this sweet Tilda that I feel comfortable enough to share in a post. I must say, I am enjoying this form of blending and look forward to practicing and learning more. I also ordered my first Copic pens this week and can't wait for them to arrive. I have seen some images where the Copics and the Prismacolor pencils were used together and loved the depth they can achieve. The little roses were surprisingly easy to make and I added a little stickles for sparkle. The papers are all Stampin'Up! and the postage image is from Pinkpaislee. I have submitted my card for a few challenges. Simon Says-silver, blue and white combination Just Magnolia-Christmas And this great sketch was provided by Sketch and Stash Challenge Blog I so enjoy checking out all of the talent you all share and thank you for visiting me! Sarah's Card

Sarah is the Librarian at our small town library where I like to volunteer. This is the card I will give to her this year. Mo's Challenge Blog this week wants to see the theme "Winter Wonderland" I just got this digi stamp, Bella Loves Christmas. Isn't she perfect? Stamp Something challenges us to use anything digital this week. I also just upgraded to the Big Shot recently and used it to dry emboss the snowflakes with the Cuttlebug folder. I used this sketch from the Mojo Monday sketch blog. I think Stickles are a must on Christmas cards! Thanks for stopping by! Jo xx
